Many small causes, vs. one large cause

Proposition:
Making an impossibly large difference in the world could be impossible. The sole power a human being has is there ability to cause. Therefore one hundred small causes, can lead, through contingency to a massive real cause, whereas a single massive cause can lead nowhere. Ideally, we understand to pursue both in our lives, but if you are going to achieve one or the other, many small causes, at the level of friends, family, and strangers you come into contact with is likely to yield real results.
