He may be referring to the perversion of religion to serve upper class goals. I think those who separate morality from law or treat law like there is no moral foundation are just evil.
This is exactly why people should not be so casual about war...whether it be sending soldiers into harm's way unnecessarily or stupidly cheering to start a war one believes someone else will be dying in.
