In the minimal sense that there are those who try to do good things but don't have any real empathetic understanding...I think this sentiment is true...beyond that it's torn apart in two seconds...

...or all the things that happened for a thousand generations that led to you...or the fact that all branches that didn't happen are meaningless to us and we think the one that did happen is so significant. How insignificant we'd feel if we could see all the possibilities with the same significance.

If the system remains truly democratic...

I wish I could get rich...to go on vacations...yeah...but also to see if I could truly maintain a virtuous stand while affected...you think you will...but you don't KNOW....

Localized doesn't have to mean absent a universal. The options don't have to be atomized vs. identity group. What you are before you choose is determined and universal. Simple and not inherently violent or nonviolent.

Progress can be slow, but one can kill another in a matter of seconds....
