You are here

Just because you cannot know everything, does not mean you cannot know anything.

Proposition:
A man should not assume because he cannot know everything, means he cannot know anything. This idea leads to detachment and relativity. While you cannot know everything, there are some things that can be known. Common sense in repeating patterns tells you that every day you wake up in the same house, surrounded by the same family. You live in the same place, with the same job. While these are not absolutes, the slow rate of change, in comparison with other rates of change gives you a comparison of difference which allows certainty to materialize. If you are arrogant, and you expect certainty as an absolute, surely you will not find it and be cast into relativity, hedonism, and life for the body.
